We are thrilled to share that Wollert Secondary College has been allocated significant funding in the 2024/25 State Government Budget. Out of the $947.735 million set aside for new school constructions across the state, our College will receive at least $36.166 million.

This funding will enable the completion of Stage 2 of our school, including:

• A new Learning Neighbourhood
• An Art & Technology building
• Landscaping enhancements

This investment represents a major milestone for Wollert Secondary College, allowing us to expand and improve our facilities for students and the wider community. Initial planning and design will begin this year, with construction expected to start in 2025, aiming for completion ahead of the 2026 school year.

Earlier in Term 2, we were delighted to host Bronwyn Halfpenny, MP for Thomastown, and Lilly D’Ambrosio, MP for Mill Park. Accompanied by our student leaders, they toured our grounds, visited classrooms, and engaged with staff and students, showing strong support for the exciting developments ahead.

In August, we officially have a builder appointed for our school’s expansion project, which received at least $36.166 million in the 2024-25 State Budget. After a thorough evaluation process, ADCO Constructions will deliver the construction of our school expansion and bring the project to life.

It has now been confirmed the project scope will include completing an Arts and Technology building, a learning neighbourhood, landscaping works and the installation of modular buildings, creating an extra 600 places for local students, including 50 spaces for students with disabilities.

Construction is set to begin later this month, with early works including the installation of site amenities and fencing, construction works, landscaping and
use of heavy machinery at times. Our priority will be to minimise disruption to student learning during construction.

Clearly there’s much to look forward to! While we navigate the upcoming period of transition at Wollert Secondary College, I trust you can also recognise the remarkable benefits this project holds for our community in the long run.

Week 5 Update: In Week 5 of Term 4, we conducted a site walk-through with ADCO to check in on the progress of our new building, and we’re delighted to share some exciting developments. The concrete slabs have now been successfully laid, marking a major milestone and giving us a real sense of the structure beginning to take shape.

We’ve also taken some photos of the freshly laid slabs so you can see the progress for yourself and share in the excitement.

Dear Families,

We are excited to welcome all students and families to our Meet the Teacher Day as we prepare for the start of the 2026 school year. This important day provides an opportunity to meet your child’s Connect teacher, share key information, and begin building a strong and positive partnership between home and school.

Meet-the-Teacher interviews will run on the 28th January 2026 from 11:00am to 6:00pm in classrooms across the College. Each appointment will be 10 minutes, and bookings will be available through Compass (opening at the end of Term 4).

In addition to your scheduled appointment, families are encouraged to visit our Information & Support Hub located in the Redgum Library. Staff will be available to assist with Compass, ICT/device support, uniform and booklist enquiries, and general wellbeing or engagement questions. A free Family BBQ will also be available from 12:00pm to 3:00pm for all attending families.

Please remember to bring your child’s device if you require ICT assistance, your Compass login details, and any medical or wellbeing information you wish to share with the school.
