Forging Foundations Program – Year 8 & 9

The Forging Foundations Program at Wollert Secondary College supports students in becoming confident, capable, and independent learners during their Middle School years.

Year 8 – Building Confidence & Curiosity

Year 8 focuses on helping students adapt to secondary school life, navigate timetables, and engage in a variety of semester-based electives in The Arts and Technology, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.

Year 9 – Taking Ownership & Exploring Pathways

Year 9 empowers students to take ownership of their learning through elective choices that reflect their passions and goals. The Careers Curriculum, including the Morrisby Report, helps students identify strengths and develop practical employability skills such as resume and cover letter writing.

A standout feature of Year 9 is the Connect Program, highlighted by the City Experience, where students explore Melbourne’s cultural landmarks, art precincts, and food scene, building independence and confidence as they navigate the city.

Through this program, students develop academic skills, personal resilience, and a strong sense of community, laying the foundation for success in senior school and beyond.
