Careers & Pathways
Wollert Secondary College is in a unique and advantageous position in the Careers and Pathways space as the College has a committed Careers and Pathways Leader and a Head Start program Learning Leader. Together, this team provides students with the tools and guidance to support students from year 7 to develop skills, capabilities and confidence that employers in growth industries need along with the industry connections to assist students beyond their schooling journey.
Students will be guided through explicit teaching of the Stages of Career Development Framework, starting at “I Discover” in year 7 that focuses on career exploration and identifying their own unique strengths and talents. Careers and Pathways planning is a focus at Wollert as we feel it is crucial to have students considering their pathways as early as possible so that programs can be tailored by our practitioners to work with the student towards their goals. Each student will have a Career Action Plan that will be monitored and adjusted throughout their time at the College to reflect their change and growth in this area of their secondary education.
